Why is VIOLENCE or symbols of violence NOTICED?
I came within a "hair" of doing my two year period of service as a RECRUITER. Then Korea Broke out, and my plans to be a Recruiter in Milwaukee, Wisc. went "East..." My specialty was varied, primarily Explosive Disposal and dis-assembling for our Division Combat Patrols. FIGHT?? - Yes Sir! Why? - Why is ANY war fought? - To create Heroes,? I don't think so. I got my share of medals, YET who EVEN KNOWS WHAT THEY STAND FOR?? I am 76, went to Korea over 50 YEARS AGO!
Know something? - My Marines THOUGHT they had it bad and maybe they did. For you History buffs, three year war,(Korea,) over 53,000 men and women WERE KILLED, (Vietnam) lasted 11 years, 57,000 killed. )....WWII, lasted Five years and I THINK the total killed EXCEEDED 600,000 men and women dead......STUPID!
MOST "BOOMERS" were just a "twinkle"in their folks eyes; THEN came Iraq.
Boom, Boom, NOW it is Afganistan! (With Iran and North Korea AGAIN, hanging in the wings!)
WHAT The blue bloody heck happened to BIBLICAL settlement of disputes?
Sure, there was a type of war, (people got killed, what OTHER kind of war is there?)
Whether to BELIEVE in God or not is simple! Read the bible, way too coincendental to be DIS-BELIEVED!
Yet here we are. STILL fighting, STILL dying, still ARGUING if Christianity, and ALL the other religions are TRUE? Never ends does it?
I remember, you might, "there are no non-believers in fox holes, (holes dug to prevent death,") or when the whistle of a round fired in anger goes over your head, (hopefully,) or VERY NEAR to your "cover."
GOD exists. He or one or more of his angels have saved my rear-most-posterior!
I came within 9 points on the rifle range towards breaking the Marine Corps shooting record. Whoop de do! {Sniper-ville...}
Tell me, or better yet, tell yourselves; What is really better, to be killed or to kill? I told you, I am 76, and if I had it ALL to do over, I would rather talk than kill! July 4th is about two weeks away, tell me another factoid; DO YOU ALL GO TO CHURCH AND PRAY THE SENSELESS KILLING WOULD STOP? Do you, when saying your prayers, ask God to STOP the senseless killing and do like the MAN in Washington, D.C., The President of the U.S,.A. suggests?? Talk it out? Do You Wives, Moms, Daughters, ALL smarter than we "Caveman like fighters," make your feelings known to "That Man of the U.S.A.?" Make your feelings known to God, WHO IS INDEED PATIENT, Try it, might just work?
